The Kern County Sheriff’s Taft Substation and Taft Police Department will be hosting a law enforcement public forum next Thursday at 7 p.m.
The meeting will take place at the West Side Recreation & Park District's Auditorium (Building "B"), 500 Cascade Place.
There will be representatives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Taft Police Department, California Highway Patrol, California State Parole, Kern County Animal Control, Kern County Code Compliance, and the Taft Federal Prison.
Speakers will be providing information to residents about local crime statistics, the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Watch Program, the Sheriff’s Citizen Service Unit, and the Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Unit.
There will also be recruitment information and other valuable information to help combat crime in Western Kern County.
This public meeting is open to everyone, but will be tailored towards the residents of West Kern County communities including McKittrick, Derby Acres, Fellows, Maricopa, Valley Acres, Dustin Acres, Tupman, and Taft.
