Officers find 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Second woman charged with being under the influence

A search warrant served by Taft City Police on Friday afternoon led to the arrest of two women.

Officers from the Kern County Sheriff’s and Probation departments assisted Taft police, according to a press release issued by Taft PD.

Evidence seized during the search of a residence on the 300 block of Sixth Street included drug paraphernalia, indications of drug sales and approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine with a street value of $2,000.

According to the press release Janelle Rodgers, 49, was booked into Taft City Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales, and Debra Barnhart, 56, was arrested on a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
