1920 - 2017
“Lu” was born to parents, Stella and Warren (Roy) Stanley, on the Reward Lease in the Fellows area on March 24th, 1920 and went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2017. She had five brothers and sisters, Ray, Russell, Robert, Maxine and Helen and was married to Laverne Conway who preceded her in death. She met Willard (Red) Haney and remained married to him until his death in January, 1988. She had two children, Carolyn Jean Simmons (who preceded her in death in 1984) and Bruce Edward Conway. Lu worked at CWOD (Chancellor Western Oil Development) and retired from there in charge of inventory. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with family. She did some traveling and one of the highlight trips was to Jerusalem. Lu didn’t like Halloween but would still hand out candy to children making sure that they received the individual bags of candy with a Bible scripture in each bag she had made. Lu also made the best pomegranate jelly from the many pomegranates from her own tree. She enjoyed being outside watching and feeding the birds and watering her yard. She had a great little dog named Pal. He surely had the right name as he was truly her pal. Lu’s surviving family include Bruce and Carol Conway; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and Pal. A special thanks to Optimal Hospice and Caretakers. At the family’s request a private funeral service will be held for Mrs. Haney. To express online condolences or sign an online guestbook please visit www.EricksonAndBrown.com.
