First one hits Wednesday, then showers and rain, heavy at times, continue through Monday

Taft is in for another rainy period starting on Wednesday night and continuing through the weekend. Three storms are lined up to move through the region and by the time its all over, Taft stands to get an inch of rain or more, with some of the heaviest rainfall coming from the third storm that will hit Sunday night into Monday.

Showers could start falling as early as late Wednesday afternoon, but the best chance for rain is going to be in the overnight hours after 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Expected a rainy start to the day Thursday, tapering off to showers by midday.

The chance of rain is 70 percent by late Wednesday and 60 percent on Thursday,

Another storm is expected to start impacting the area in the predawn hours on Friday, bringing a 70 percent chance of rain with it and the rain will continue into the evening before turning to showers.

There's a brief respite on Saturday with just a chance of showers, and Saturday night looks dry.

But the rains returns on Sunday with a 50 percent chance and becomes likely overnight Sunday and into Monday when the heaviest rains are predicted.
Taft could get up to a half-inch Sunday night and another quarter inch Monday before the rain turns to showers.

After that, a high pressure ridge is expected to set up, keeping skies mostly clear except for patchy night and morning fog, through the end of the week.

Highs are expected to be in the mid 50s and lows in the 40s through the period.
