She's taught at Release Time for 36 years
Friday night was a night to sing praises for both the Divine and the human at the annual West Side Christian Ministers Association Good Friday Service.
Not only was it a time to mark the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, but the mark the retirement of Edie Ogborn after 36 years teaching children through West Side Release time.
Osborn said she was motivated by Christian faith and the love of Children.
"I love these kids and I wanted them to See Christ... to see love and to feel love," she said.
Ogborn has been with the release time program for half of its life
Even though she's retiring, she's not quitting altogether.
"...I will always be there for release time because I love it so much," she said.
Release time is an ecumenical program where school students leave classes for a time each week to learn about the Bible
She was presented a plaque on behalf of the West Side Christian Ministers Assocation for her service and rewarded with a two-day stay in Pismo Beach.
The Good Friday Service was hosted this year by the West Hills Church of the Nazarene.
