FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
For Friday, November 25, 2011
The Sunday morning Worship Celebration at the First Baptist Church, 220 North Street, begins at 10:30. Pastor Scott Pearson will be bringing the message, “The Prayer of Release” as we work our way through the Lord's Prayer. The Scripture is Matthew 6:12b. We'll be lighting an Advent candle, our Worship Team will lead us in praise and prayer, Pat Pearson will play special piano music, and we'll celebrate Communion together.
Sunday School classes for all ages start at 9:00, including six different options for adults. Nursery is available during Sunday School and at all worship times. There are special classes during the morning Celebration for young people up through high school.
The usual Evening Worship Service is canceled this holiday weekend so families can invest time with each other. Everyone is invited next Friday, December 2, at 6:30 for a Movie Night. The adults will be watching “The Nativity Story,” a Hollywood release from a few years back, while the young people will enjoy a Veggie Tales Christmas. Afterward we'll fellowship together with snacks and desserts.
The Youth Group under the direction of Josh and Tami Salazar meets Sunday morning and also Wednesday nights for a teaching time. They focus on building relationships and sports activities. There is adult volleyball on Monday and Thursday nights.
Community Christian Fellowship and First Baptist have combined their efforts to make one united Awana ministry on the Westside Wednesday nights at 6:00. There are clubs for ages Kindergarten through High School. They have an awesome time learning Bible verses, singing, playing games and listening to Bible lessons. Your family is invited to come be a part of this growing group!
First Baptist Church has a number of life groups, prayer times and Bible studies going on during the week. The women have some other special activities as well.
For more information about any of these activities or ministries, please call the church office at 763-3138 during regular business hours. Thank you.
