You want to have a good time and help a bunch of good kids at the same time?
Then head on out to Derby Acres on July 30 for the annual Tumbleweed Festival.
The third annual Tumbleweed Festival is going to be a fund-raiser for both the Taft All-Star Band, which is raising money to go to Washington D.C. in November to represent the city at a special performance, and a Christmas party for the children of Derby Acres.
A full day of events is scheduled, and most of them are free. It includes a bounce house, dunk tank, car and motorcycle show, watermelon spitting contest, Bloody Mary drink mixing contest and, of course, the annual tumbleweed decorating contest.
A mechanical bull has been added to the list of events, too.
There will also be a raffle with the drawing at 3 p.m. You must be present to win.
Arts and crafts, food and T-shirts will be on sale and a band will be playing all afternoon and evening.
The day is full of events for the entire family, and the fun for the adults continues into the evening with music, dancing and drinking.
