Officers also find 116 grams of heroin, other drugs
Two people were arrested when a probation search by Taft Police resulted in the discovery of a pound of methamphetamine, a large amount of heroin as well as other controlled substances and cash.
The illegal substances have an estimated street value of $50,000, according to police.
Officers arrested Ashley Mullen, 24, and Derek Simpson, 47, of Bakersfield.
Chief of Police Ed Whiting said officers went to an apartment on the 300 block of Warren Street about 10 p.m. Thursday.
Inside the small apartment, Whiting said, officers located the meth, 116 grams of heroin, several grams of Fentanyl, and other pain medications in the form of pills and tablets, as well as about $800 in cash and other items that indicated drugs were being sold.
Mullen and Simpson were booked into Taft Jail pending their arraignments in Kern County Superior Court.
