American Cancer Society makes decision in wake of Las Vegas shooting
Next Tuesday's scheduled town hall meeting to discuss the future of the Taft Relay for Life has been postponed since so many people have been affected by the mass shooting in Las Vegas on Oct. 1.
The American Cancer Society made the announcement Friday morning
"In respect for families in Kern County grieving over the loss of loved ones from the tragedy in Las Vegas, Relay For Life of Taft will be postponing the Town Hall Meeting to allow community members to focus on loved ones and healing, said Taft Relay for Life Event Lead person Barbara Schryver.
A new date for the town hall will be announced later.
