Queen will be crowned Friday before varsity football game. JV game will start early

Taft Union High School will hold its annual Powder Puff football game in Martin Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. Wednesday as part of Homecoming Week. Admission costs $2. The homecoming king will be crowned at halftime.
The JV football game will be played at 4:30 p.m. Friday, before the varsity football game against the Robert F. Kennedy Thunderbirds at 7:30.
 The game-themed Homecoming floats and the queen coronation will be held after the JV game and before the varsity game on Friday.
 The five homecoming queen candidates are: Taylor Hale, Sarah Lopez, Sierra Pilgrim, Lindsay Turner and Brooklyn Yaws. The six king candidates are: Fano Maui, Blake Johnson, Jacob Gonzales, Zack Tuaila, Zack Self and Seth Taylor.
 The game-themed homecoming dance will be held 9 p.m. until midnight Saturday in Mullen gym. Cost is $10 without an Associated Student Body sticker and $8 with an ASB sticker if purchased in advance; $12 at the door without a sticker and $10 with a sticker.
