Brad Zumbro and friends to perform at the Fox
Friday night the Fox will Rock.
Bradley Zumbro and his acclaimed Hollywood musicians will put on a show specifically suited for Taftians of all ages with pricing as low as $8.00 and a VIP section for $20.00. Tickets purchased at concert time will be $10.00. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Westside Recreation Center, Fox Theatre or www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3104928.
“The best people you can play for are the people of Taft”, Zumbro proclaimed in an interview mid-October in Taft.
“They are hardworking, salt of the earth, appreciative and the nicest people I have ever known.” Zumbro has the credentials to back up his statement. He grew up the son of Don and Linda Zumbro and lived on the Westside until receiving his AA degree at Taft College.
He later went to Cal Poly for his BA then Penn State University for his Master’s in Speech. It was at Penn State where he starred in his original rock band. Zumbro saw his first movie at the Taft Fox (Bambi) at the age of three. He said it was a “magical experience.”
Reminiscing, he said, “Since then, I’ve wanted to be on stage at the Majestic Taft Fox Theatre. This place is enchanted with a huge stage and wonderful acoustics. My band and I consider it an honor to play there.” The Westside Parks and Recreation District has helped to provide the famous Center Street venue. The Fox will rock with a variety of music. Kicking off the evening’s entertainment will be local guitar/singer Terry Brown. His set will feature songs of the sixties. Brown will be followed by Zumbro’s wife Frances. Zumbrodeo will include an ensemble of Ryan Hulbert (drums and vocals), Dave Park (Guitar, Banjo, Harmonica), Craig Childress (Bass) and Hillary Anderson (vocals). Sons of the 60s will follow Zumbro and Brown. They intend to play a mixed set of country and rock songs from the Eagles, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Steeler’s Wheel and other iconic artists. Zumbro will also mix in several songs he has written and produced on his own. VIP ticket holders will be seated up front with tables. Food and beverage will be catered by OT’s Cookhouse.
