Two masked men brandish handgun, demand cash

Taft Police are seeking the public's help identifying two masked men who held up a downtown market at gunpoint Sunday night.

Police were called to La Villa Market, 623 Center St. at 7:42 p.m.to a report of an armed robbery.

Officers were told two males suspects entered the store and demanded money from the cashier then fled the store.

"At least one of the suspects brandished what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun," Sgt. Corey Beilby said.

The suspects were described as two young men in their late teens or early 20s.

Both suspects wore dark clothing and masks to cover their faces, Beilby said.
One suspect was described by witnesses as a Hispanic and the other is either caucasian or Hispanic.
