Jon Cobbs of Japan Martial Arts Academy will be leading a two-hour class in self defense techniques that includes the use of the kubaton device.

 

You can learn to defend yourself and help in the fight against cancer with a self-defense class being offered by Taft relay for Life team Cancer Crush.

 

Jon Cobbs of Japan Martial Arts Academy will be leading a two-hour class in self defense techniques that includes the use of the kubaton device.
the class will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the party room in Building D at the West Side Recreation and park District, 500 Cascade Place.

 

Cost is just $20 and includes the kubaton self-defense device.

This course is designed to provide the student with some self-defense strategies when confronted with unexpected assaultive behavior. At the completion of the course the student will be able to demonstrate the following:

 

•Identify pressure points and how to exploit them. 

•How to defend against a person attacking from the rear.

•How to break the grasp of an attacker

•How and where to use the Kubotan self defense device
