Fire breaks out at 11 a.m.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged a house in South Taft Thursday morning.
The fire caused $15,000 to the house on the 200 block of Shattuck Avenue, but firefighters reported a save of $50,000.
The fire was reported at 11:09 a.m.
Arriving firefighters from Kern County Fire Station 21 found smoke coming from a 700 square-foot single-story, single-family residence. Fire crews pulled hose lines and forced entry into the home to extinguish the fire.
The fire was put out and a search confirmed no one was home and there were no injuries.
The cause is under investigation.
Two engines and a ladder truck plus two investigators were dispatched to the fire.
