Well also damaged in copper wire theft attempt
Rural crimes detectives from the Kern County Sheriff's Office are seeking the public's people with two thefts and a vandalism case in the Taft area.
•On Dec, 12 at 11:24 a.m., unknown suspects burglarized an oil related business located in the 1000 block of N. Lincoln Avenue. The following items were taken during the theft: an orange Husky riding lawnmower, an orange Husky brand chainsaw, three weed eaters, a pressure washer, a portable generator, a gas can, and a pipe threader. • On Dec. 20, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. unknown suspects attempted to steal copper wiring from a water well located near Highway 33 and Kerto Road, causing an unknown amount of damage to the well pump. If anyone has any information, contact Brunsell. Refer to case #2017-01171476.
•Between Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. and Dec. 26 at 1:30 p.m. unknown suspects stole a 1982 red and white Kenworth flatbed tanker truck with black fenders from the 14000 block of Pieri Road. The vehicle bears VIN #106200GL and was filled with red diesel fuel.
