Man was pinned in crushed cab for 20 minutes

A man driving a welding truck was able to walk away after his truck rolled over on Elk Hills Road Wednesday morning, pinning him inside the crushed cab for about 20 minutes.
The driver, whose identity wasn't immediately available, suffered minor injuries and was refusing ambulance transport to a hospital at the scene.
"He's very lucky," said one Kern County firefighter who helped pry him from the crushed cab of the heavy duty Chevrolet 2500 pickup.
The truck was northbound on Elk Hills Road about 3 miles north of Valley West Road and overturned, landing on its wheels on the right side of the road.
The cab was crushed and an arc welder, oxygen and acetylene tanks and welding equipment were scattered nearby.
After being pulled from the mangled cab, he walked to a large nearby natural gas pipe and sat down as paramedics assessed him and talked with him.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 10:48 a.m.
