He will fill vacancy left by resignation of John Montgomery
A retired 20-year Taft City School District employee was appointed to the District Board of Trustees.
Greg Mudge, assistant principal at Lincoln Junior High for 12 years before becoming the District director of information services for eight years, will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of John Montgomery.
Mudge will have to seek election in November of this year to serve the rest of Montgomery's term, which expires in 2020.
Mudge was sworn into office by Superintendent Julie Graves at the start of Wednesday night's monthly board meeting and immediately took his seat.
Mudge retired from the District in the late summer 2017.
Montgomery resigned in mid December, citing health and personal reasons, after serving on the board for 10 years.
