He faces two counts of murder in DUI crash that killed Raeleen and Raegan Sorenson
Vincent Moroyoqui is scheduled to go on trial June 4 for the deaths of Raeleen and Raegan Sorensen.
Moroyoqui is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter driving in connection with the crash that killed the mother and daughter from Taft on July 20.
He was held to answer on two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of gross vehicular Manslaughter at a preliminary hearing on Jan. 31, his 35th birthday, and his trial date was set at an arraignment Wednesday at Kern County Superior Court in Bakersfield.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Moroyoqui is accused of driving drunk in the eastbound lanes of Highway 119 when he went into the westbound lanes to pass and his pickup collided head-on with the Sorenson's car, killing the women who were returning home from Bakersfield.
The crash took place just west of Buena Vista Road.
He was not injured. Moroyoqui is being held without bail pending trial.
He has been held since he was booked at midnight on July 21, several hours after the crash.
