KCFD reports occupants safe after early morning blaze on Eastern

 No injuries were reported after fire broke out in a South Taft home early Sunday morning.

The fire, on the 300 block of Eastern Avenue, was reported at 3:07 a.m.

The Kern County Fire Department reported the occupants fled safely and firefighters knocked the flames down before they could spread to adjacent homes.

Photos provided by the KCFD show extensive damage to the home.

No cause or damage figure was immediately available.

Engines from Taft, Fellows, Maricopa and McKittrick were dispatched to the fire along with a truck from Taft and two arson investigators.
