Rumors of multiple people involved have been discounted

Law enforcement has decided there is no serious threat to Taft Union High School.

"The Kern County Sheriff's Office has determined that the school, students and staff are not in any danger at this point," TUHS said in an update to parents at 2 p.m. Monday, about three hours after the alleged threats were revealed on campus.

Rumors that multiple people were involved have been discounted, the District said.

"Reports of the involvement of three other students in making threats were unsubstantiated."

One potential suspect, being referred to a "person of interest," was interviewed by Sheriff's deputies.
