Gas monitors and tools stolen from rig, copper wire taken near McKittrick

The Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit is asking for the public's help to find the people responsible for a pair of oilfield thefts, one near Taft and the other in the McKittrick area, i in recent weeks.
•Sometime between 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 26, unknown suspects stole various hand tools and four gas monitors from an oil rig near the location of Cadet Road and Highway 33.
The monitors are described as being 2 Drager X-Zone 5000 models bearing serial numbers ARCN-0074 and ARCN-0108, and 2 Drager X-AM 5000 models bearing serial numbers ARCL-0208 and ARDA-0349.

•On March 5 between 1 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. unknown suspects entered an oil lease in the area of Reward Road and Franco Western Road and stole approximately $1,000 in copper wire. If anyone has any information regarding this investigation, contact Detective Casey Brunsell. Refer to case #2018-00033914.
