Kern Street Interdiction Team contacts 30 people on probation or parole
Eighteen people were arrested on a variety of charges when law enforcement officers from eight Kern County law enforcement agencies conducted a probation sweep in the Taft area on Tuesday.
The Kern Street Interdiction Team (SIT) conducted a probation and AB109 compliance checks throughout the community and contacted about 30 people, according to a news release from the Taft Police Department.
Those contacts led to the 18 arrests for probation violations, warrants and for open charges including drug and weapons charges.
Tuesday's Kern SIT sweep included officers from the Kern County Probation Department, the Kern County Sheriff’s Department and police departments from Taft, Shafter, Arvin, McFarland, Tehachapi and Ridgecrest.
