Flooding reported on streets. roads
The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for western Kern County including the Taft area.
The advisory will remain in effect until 4:45 p.m.
Rain will continue to track eastward across Kern county for the remainder of this afternoon. Additional rain amounts of a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch are likely in the
San Joaquin Valley which will cause generally minor flooding on some roads and in areas with normally poor drainage. Some locations that will experience flooding include Bakersfield, Wasco, Arvin, Shafter, Taft, Lamont, Rosedale, Valley Acres, Mettler, Derby Acres, Ford City, Taft Heights, Dustin Acres, McKittrick, Weedpatch, South Taft, Tupman, Belridge, Blackwells Corner and Lost Hills. Motorists should not drive across roads where water has ponded.
Minor flooding could lead to additional road closures.
