The Randolph E. Collier Rest Area that services both directions of Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County will be closed to the traveling public from Monday, April 30, through Friday, Aug. 31.

The Randolph E. Collier Rest Area that services both directions of Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County will be closed to the traveling public from Monday, April 30, through Friday, Aug. 31. These dates are subject to change depending on weather and other factors. According to Caltrans, the full closure is necessary for its contractor, Timberworks Construction, to complete a potable water supply and waste water system rehabilitation project.


Located adjacent to I-5 and 2.5 miles north of Highway 96, the Randolph E. Collier Rest Area serves northbound and southbound traffic and provides restrooms, water, picnic tables, public telephones and access in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
