One-way traffic controls from Kern-Kings county line to Highway 41 for next seven weeks
Caltrans announced one-way traffic control over the next seven weeks on State Route 33 in Kings County from the Kern/Kings County line to State Route 4.
Construction crews will be installing rumble strips in the centerline to increase safety throughout the corridor.
The following one-way traffic control will be in effect, weather permitting:
•Starting Monday, April 16, segments of State Route 33 in Kings County will be reduced to one-way traffic control starting at the Kern/Kings County line to State Route 41. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible, and depending on traffic volumes, delays may extend longer. One-way traffic control will be in effect Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by uncontrollable events that may occur during construction procedures. Commuters are encouraged to avoid this area during work hours and use alternate routes if possible.
Maintenance Crews will be conducting one way traffic control at this location and during the work hours listed above with flagging personnel through the work zone. Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel at all times.
