Former District 4 Supervisor Grace Bennett invites the public to visit the new temporary location of the Collier Interpretive & Information Center.

Former District 4 Supervisor Grace Bennett invites the public to visit the new temporary location of the Collier Interpretive & Information Center. As the center’s location as a rest area along Highway 96 is closed until Sept. 1 for upgrades to the water and sewer system, visitors are directed to visit the temporary location at 109 Montague Road in Yreka, next to Grocery Outlet.

]Bennett noted that all brochures at the center are free and encourages people to use the materials to plan their next vacation. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as some weekends. Bennett noted that the Collier Interpretive & Information Center receives more visitors annually than almost any other welcome center in California.

The center is looking for volunteers to help out at the temporary location. Those interested may call Bennett at (530) 842-4037.
