Sheriff's RCIU investigating theft on Highway 119
Detectives from the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit are seeking clues to a pair of thefts in the Taft area.
On April 22, between 5 p.m. and 5:21 p.m. unknown suspects stole 50 yards of copper wire for an oil well wiring system, an electrical panel, and a telephone pole located on an oil lease in the 28000 block of Highway 119.

Between April 28 at 3 p.m. and April 29 at 7:30 a.m., unknown suspects forced entry to a farm storage yard on Gardner Field Road and stole a black John Deere 12-volt battery, four tractor keys, and 200 gallons of red diesel fuel.
