Plate glasses windows broken at several locations along Sixth Street

Taft Police are investigating an outbreak of vandalism along Sixth Street that apparently took place in the overnight hours Wednesday.

Plate glass windows at the Taft College Book Store in Pilot Plaza just east of Sixth Street, and Taft City School District offices on the 800 block of Sixth were broken out, and the glass was also damaged in a door at Carquest Auto Parts on the 600 block of Sixth.

There is currently no evidence of burglary at any of the sites, Taft Police Lt. Pete Aranda said Thursdayafternoon.

The front window at the Cougar Bookstore was boarded up after a plate glass window was broken.
That vandalism was reported to police at 1:11 a.m.

The damage to a glass door at Carquest was reported at 4:25 a.m.

The TCSD damage was reported later in the morning and boards covered windows at the entrance.
