Victim flown to Kern Medical after rollover early Monday

A Taft man was critically injured in a single vehicle accident on Highway 33 in Taft early Monday morning.

The victim was driving southbound on the highway about 150 yards north of Wood Street when, for unknown reasons, his car drifted off the west side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and the car traveled across the roadway, going off the east side and overturning three to four times, Taft Police Sgt. Corey Beilby said.

The victim, a 28-year-old man whose name was not released, was flown to Kern Medical for treatment of life-threatening injuries, Beilby said.

He was the only person in the car.
