Couple with long ties to Taft will be honored at annual Cougar Cookout
Don and Linda Zumbro will be honored with the Taft College Spirit Award at the ninth annual Taft College Alumni and Friends Cougar Cookout.
The event will feature a special video capturing the community spirit of the Zumbros.
Don and Linda have built a legacy and inspired generations of residents on the Westside through their commitment to Taft College, the City of Taft and above all each other.
Don and Linda Zumbro join an impressive list of outstanding community members honored with the Spirit Award that includes John and Betty Miller (2014), Harry Wilson (2015), Dr. David Cothrun (2016) and Ray and Lodema Hatch (2017).
The big outdoor dinner party will be held on Oct. 11 in the TC quad and will feature live music, dancing, and an alumni beer garden before the Spirit Award presentation caps the evening.
The Cougar Cookout is an event honoring veterans and bringing together the Taft Community to Taft College.
Each veteran can receive two complimentary tickets that are available for pickup only at the Taft College cashiers desk and Cooper's True Value.
General Admission is $30 and just $20 for Taft College alumni.
A table sponsorship price is $500 and includes a table for 10 guests.
