Suspect gets away with cash, phones

A burglary victim came home just as the suspect was leaving his house early last Thursday.
Taft Police said the man arrived at his house on the 600 block of Lucard Street just before 6:30 a.m. and saw the suspect, described only as an unknown male carrying a red backpack walking out the front door and flee.
The suspect got away with about $140 in cash and several cell phones that had not been activated.
Total loss is about $640.

Sgt. Shad Swanson said the suspect made entry to the house by throwing a rock through a window.

Police are also investigating a theft at the NEEDS Center.

It was reported Sunday morning.
The suspect made entry through sliding glass door and took canned food valued at $15.
