Structure was supposed to be vacant but may have had squatters

Fire fire broke out in a South Taft house Thursday afternoon.
The blaze was reported at 3:30 p.m. in a doublewide mobile home on the southeast corner of Crystal Street and Lierly Avenue.

Much of the structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The fire was knocked down in about 30 minutes.

Neighbors said was supposed to be vacant but was being used by squatters.
