Candidates for City Council, Assembly, Congress and County Supervisor races will be there
The Taft District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Taft Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 17 in preparation of the upcoming general election. This Candidate Forum is designed to give the voters on the Westside of Kern County an opportunity to hear from the candidates themselves prior to the general election on November 6.
Candidates from the following positions have been invited to attend: US Congress 23rd District, CA Senator 16th District, CA Assembly 32nd District, Kern County Supervisor 2nd District, and City of Taft City Council. Confirmed candidates in attendance will include: Tatiana Matta, Ruth Musser-Lopez, Nick Nicita, Michael Biglay, Whitney Weddell, Dal Bunn, Zack Scrivner, Don Braun, Jeff Eveland, Sandra Downey, Renee Hill, Ron Waldrop, Andrew Wagner, Ed Whiting, and Josh Bryant.
The Taft Candidate's Forum will take place on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 5:30 – 8:30pm at OT Cookhouse and Saloon, located at 205 N. 10th Street in Taft. Each candidate will be given time for an opening and closing statement as well as time to answer a few pre-selected questions. This is a great opportunity to get to know more about those who are running for the positions that impact us the most.
