Defendant tried to steal baby stroller
A transient arrested robbery charged in Taft was sentenced to 90 days in jail after a plea agreement.
Minnie Molly Bell Culpepper pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of grand theft from a person Thursday in Kern County Superior Court.
A felony count of attempted first degree robbery and misdemeanor resisting arrest count was dismissed as part of the deal.
Culpepper, 39, was given credit for 21 days (11 days served, 10 days for good behavior) and placed on three years summary probation.
Culpepper was arrested by Taft Police on Oct. 22 when they responded to a report that she had taken another person's baby stroller containing personal belongings and shoved the victim, when the victim tried to take the strolled back.
The stroller was carrying the victim's personal items, not a child.
