Two community college and one university administrator are the finalists to succeed Willy Duncan as superintendent/president of Taft College.
Duncan resigned last spring to become chancellor of the Sierra Community College District.
Dr. Richard “Dick” Giese is serving as interim superintendent/president until a successor can be named, probably early next month.
The finalists are:
•Dr. Kenneth Meier, vice president of student learning at College of Marin.
•Dr. Dena Maloney, assistant superintendent and vice president of the Canyon Country campus and economic development for the Santa Clarita Community College District.
•Dr. Curtis “Curt” Guaglianone, special assistant to the provost for program development, university accreditation liaison officer, director of the Graduate Student Center and liaison for the doctor of education program at Cal State Bakersfield.
The finalists were selected by a campus committee that was comprised of administrators, faculty, support staff, students and community members.
They will be interviewed on Feb. 3 by the board of trustees.
Taft College also is searching for a new vice president of instruction to replace Henry Yong, who left to become president of Evergreen Valley College.
Patti Bench has been serving in the interim.
Selection of a new vice president of instruction won’t occur until after a new CEO is named.
