Oilfield thefts target well servicing elevators

Oilfield thieves are now taking specialized well servicing tools.
The Kern County Sheriff's rural Crimes Investigation Unit is investigating two thefts involving elevators, one in the Belridge area and one to the south near McKittrick.
Tubing elevators were stolen from an oil rig site located in the area of Highway 33 and 7th Standard Road.  The elevators are further described as:  Oil Country brand, serial #T0308, 2 7/8, and yellow in color.

Two pipe elevators were stolen out of a service truck while it was parked on Franco Western Road south of Reward Road.  One of the elevators is red in color with the serial #L4956-05, and the other is described as “normal looking” with serial #IT653-04.  If you have any information regarding this investigation please contact  Winn.

Approximately 300’ of #10 copper wire was stolen from an oil well located near Gardner Field Road and Honolulu Road.  Please contact Detective Robert Winn if you have any information regarding this case.
