Taft High's season opening football games against Golden Valley High will be starting a little later because of the heat.
Friday's doubleheader will start an hour later than scheduled with the junior varsity kicking off at 6 p.m. and the varsity game to follow at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday's freshman game was postponed an hour to start at 6 p.m. instead of 5 p.m.
Daytime highs over 100 degrees and high heat indices (a combination of heat and humidity) make it unsafe to play football in the heat of the day.
