Leo Arthur Horton, 74, went fishing with Jesus July 18, 2017 approximately 3:30 in the afternoon at his home in Dustin Acres.
Leo leaves behind his Wife of 52 yrs, Carolyn Horton, Son David Horton and Wife Stacie all of Dustin Acres. Leo leaves 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 5 great grandchild. Corey Horton of Nevada, Andrew Horton his fiancé Desirae Watrous their children Kaileb, Christopher and soon Harrison, Ethan Horton and daughter Emerli all of Taft, Britnie Horton of Bakersfield, Rebekah Morales her Husband Marty and son Little Leo of Arizona, Brother Bill Horton and his wife Barbara of Oregon and Sister Pat Brownfield and husband Jim of Tulare and a large extended family who Leo loved dearly.
Leo is predeceased by his parents Roy and Annie Horton, Brothers Lloyd Horton, Ronald Horton and Twin Brother Cleo Horton, Sisters Robbie Manuele and Arlene Goodman.
Leo was born in Corcoran Ca. October 3, 1942. He was the 7th of 8 children born to Roy and Annie Horton. In about the 7thgrade Leo and his family moved to Taft, where Leo graduate High School in 1961. He served the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1966. He married the love of his life Carolyn Keller-Horton in April of 1965. Their son David was born August of 1966. Leo worked in the oilfield surrounding Taft for 40+ years, even owning his own company Leo and son construction for a short time. He retired from Arco in 1997 just working odd jobs here and there. In 2008 he started working for Westside Mosquito Abatement and fully retired in 2015. Leo loved the Lord and attended Taft Church of God.
A memorial service will be held for Leo at Taft Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 401 Harrison Street Taft, Ca. 93268, Thursday August 10, 2017 at 4:00pm.
