Graveside services will be held for Gerry Fulkerson on October 9, at 10:00 at the West Side Cemetery. Gerry was born on January 15, 1930, in Bakersfield but lived in Taft most of her life. As a teenager, she worked at the Devine Drive In on Center Street and graduated from Taft High School in 1947. Later she was also a teller at the Crocker Bank for several years.
Gerry was a member of the First Assembly of God Church for over sixty years. She also attended New Hope Temple.
In 1948, Gerry married Chuck Fulkerson. They were married for 69 years until his death in July two months ago. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Lawrence and Emory Hackler, her sister Lola Voight. And her youngest grandson, David Williams.
Gerry is survived by her three children Carol and her husband Warren Newbury, Sharon and her husband Michael Zarda, and Don and his wife Pat Fulkerson all of Taft, her three grandchildren: Teresa and her husband Chris Morris of Nevada, Don and his wife Missy of Oklahoma, Julie and her husband, Bill Grassi of Bakersfield, two great granddaughters Kelssi and Kylie Williams of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
