Linda Silveira was born in Missouri on May 10, 1950. She was raised in Watsonville, CA and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1968. She moved to Taft, CA in 1974 with her husband and two children. Linda began working at Taft College Library in 1978. She retired from the Taft College Library on June 16, 2016, after 38 years of service. She enjoyed being with her family, going on camping trips, reading books, going to casinos, and telling jokes and stories.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Beatrice Martin. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Anthony “Tony” Silveira; her children, Anthony (Meghan) Silveira and Traci (Ryan) Self; her grandchildren, Ryan Self, Jr. (Monique Sanchez), Dylan Self, and MarkAaron (Kassandra) Nearn. Linda is also survived by her stepson, Daniel Silveira and family. She will also be missed by her siblings Loretta Nicola, Janice Downing, Lewis Martin, and Paul Martin. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Linda courageously battled several major illnesses that came upon her rapidly beginning in February 2017. She passed away in her home on October 2, 2017 with her loved ones surrounding her. Thank you to Anna from Hoffmann Hospice for helping us through that day. Linda’s request was to not have any services, instead eat some good food, share a story or joke, and have a good time and laugh. She will forever be missed and loved.
