Marvin was born January 18, 1946 in Taft, Ca. to James and Reba Fuller. On May 22, 1964 he married his high school sweetheart, Darlene Vivian Prout. He worked for Standard Oil before joining the Taft Police Department in 1967. He started Westside Security Patrol in 1972. Westside Security Patrol became M & S Security Services, Inc. in 1990, with two of his sons; Steve Fuller and Marvin Fuller Jr. Marvin held the position of Founder and CEO until his passing. He was passionate about his work and was still fully involved in the business until he became too sick. He loved singing and playing music and had been the worship leader at several churches over the years. He played many instruments including; piano, guitar, base guitar and the violin. He was also very active in the community, a member and past president of Taft Kiwanis and past Lt. Governor of Cal-Nev-Ha. Marvin was accomplished in many things including; auctioneer, commercial helicopter pilot, fixed wing pilot, youth leader, Sunday school teacher and past Mayor of Taft, Ca. Marvin was, more than anything, a family man and loved spending time with them, especially the grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife Darlene and three sons, Jim, Steve and wife Melissa Fuller, Marvin Jr and wife Lisa Fuller of Bakersfield, Ca.; grandchildren, Sydney Fuller, Christal and husband Doug Hutchison, Mason Fuller, Marvin Fuller III, Henry Walker and James Hunter; great grandchild, Carter Hutchison; siblings, Dennis Fuller, Jean and husband Charles Morris, Joyce and husband Mickey Mead, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The celebration of life service will be held at 9am, Saturday, December 16th at New Hope Temple, 308 Harrison St., Taft, Ca. 93268. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery, 440 E Cedar St., Taft, Ca. There will be a reception at the Historic Fort, 915 N. 10th, Taft, Ca. Condolences may be sent to Mission Family Mortuary at 531 California Ave., Bakersfield, Ca.
