Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 9:00am for Alice McDow at Westside Cemetery.
There will be an open visitation on Friday, December 15th between 6-8pm at Erickson and Brown Funeral Home in Taft. Al Edgmon Jr. (great nephew), will officiate the service. Alice was born on April 23, 1931 and went home to be with Jesus on December 7, 2017 in Paradise, California. Alice lived in Taft for more than 60 years and was a pillar in her family and the communities she lived in. She held a Crossing Guard position in Taft for over 23 years and had a positive influence on more than one generation of children.
Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but what she was best remembered for was her devotion to her disabled son Collin that preceded her in death in January of 2017. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and serving the community. Alice never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, her son Collin and stepdaughter Pat.
Her survivors include her daughters Joy and husband John, Gail and husband Matt, Sue and son James, grandchildren, John, Sonya, Myranda, Michelle, Sheila and spouses, John D., Leanne and Gina along with 18 great grandchildren and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Alice will be missed by all of the lives she touched which is an uncountable number of people.
