April 21, 1914 - January 24, 2018,

Ida Anna Allen was born April 21, 1914, at Miami, Arizona, and passed away on January 24, 2018, at Bakersfield.  She moved to Taft with her husband, Sylvester Allen, in 1943, along with her children, Judy and David.  She was a homemaker and a vocational nurse at Westside Hospital and The Fort.  She loved children and reached out in many ways to numerous children, including teaching them to read through phonics.  After her husband of 42 years passed, she married Reg Hudson, and after he passed, Doyt Ault.  She often said how her life has revolved around the First Baptist Church for the last 72 years, where she has served in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, women's activities, and all children and youth programs, still active up to her death.  Her favorite hobby was making "lap quilts" for the needy and for friends and relatives, continuing to the very end of her life. She has been righteous and diligent in her living, compassionate and understanding, loyal, wise, kind and nurturing, self-sacrificing -- a good and powerful force. Her son, David, preceded her in death four months ago. She is survived by David's wife, Lita and family, daughter, Judy Allen and family, two stepsons, Gerald Hudson and family, and Jerry Ault and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 2nd at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, 220 North Street, Taft.  Donations in her honor may be made to Taft First Baptist Church's Community Outreach To The Needy or to World Vision.
