February 2, 1925 - March 1, 2018

What a joy for John Schiefelbein to be received into the Kingdom March 1, 2018 to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Those of us who knew him as husband, Dad, Pops, Grandpa and friend will miss him the most. Born February 2, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, he lived a life filled with variety and adventures. After serving in the Air Corp in Germany during WWII, he found a job at a brewery I Milwaukee, WI and later began teaching the accordion. He opened his own studio in Watertown, WI and was the leader of a small band playing his favorite music. John was offered a teaching and managing position at a music store in Downey, CA which started him on a new chapter in his life's story. Later he become the owner of a small food and drink bar called the Diamond Belle in Ventucopa, CA. His last venture before retirement brought him to Taft, CA and a mail carrier position.

Besides tending a large yard and garden John enjoyed camping, traveling, collecting Green Bay Packers memorabilia, plates and anything that could play his favorite music. He attended Peace Lutheran Church in Taft and was a member of the Moose Lodge, and Fellows American Legion.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carl. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 47 years, daughter Shelly and George Mizener, son Kurt and Collette Schiefelbein, Scott and Norma Jallo, Dawn Bledsoe, Shawn Jallo, Carol and Tom Miter; grandchildren Ashley Vorhees, Ryan Bledsoe, Austin Jallo, Allison and Rylee Mizener, Matthew and Lilianna Jallo, Shawn Miller and Dedre Dunn. Eight great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for John will be Meld on March 10th at 10:30 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 26 Cougar Way, with a lunch to be served at the Moose Lodge, 205 ½ 10th St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or Optimal Hospice of Bakersfield, CA.
