Lola Mae Knox, born July 15, 1932, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2018 in the company of close family and friends. Previously known as Lola Peeples, she was preceded in death by her parents, Josiah and Bertie Peeples, as well as her brothers, Pat and Earl Peeples. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter Knox, her daughters, Kim Tomasko (Roger) and Kristi Wolverton (Paul), and Kim’s children, Samantha Lemmon (Chris), Hanna Wilkerson, and Jack Tomasko. She is also survived by Samantha’s two children, Ila and Walter Lemmon. Lola was a dedicated member of her community, offering exercise classes for more than 50 years at the Taft Recreation District. She also was the organist for the Community Christian Church, playing for her friends and family every week. On top of her strong love of exercise, communion, and art, Lola enjoyed days at the lake partaking in waterskiing. Whenever she had the chance, she would also hit the golf course with her friends to play a few holes. Lola’s strong dedication, love, and wisdom she offered to her friends and family is unmatched to any other type of inspiration in this world. Graveside services will be located at the West Side District Cemetery in Taft, California on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at 10:30 AM.
