January 6, 1952-September 6, 2018
Long time Taft resident Fred Hosford went to meet Jesus on September 6, 2018. He passed away peacefully in his home. Fred was a fun- loving person who enjoyed traveling with his wife and spoiling his two fur babies. He was born and raised near San Diego, CA until he joined the Army at the age of 19. He served in Korea and was stationed in Hawaii for several years. He moved to Taft in 1984 since he got a job in the oil fields where he worked for Gene Watson Construction for 20 years. Fred met the love of his life, Twila, in 1985 and they were married for over 30 years. They shared a lot of laughs, a lot of love and a lot of tears together. Freddie will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Fred was preceded in death by his father Alvin Hosford, his mother Lois Kenick, his son Tony Williams and “Daddy’s Little Girl” his daughter, Felicia Hosford. Fred was survived by his loving wife Twila and his best friend and son Thomas Glenn of Norfolk, VA. He was also survived by his brother Mark and his wife Pam of Escondido, CA, brother Paul and his wife Kathy of Meridian, ID, and sister Karen Musgrave and her husband Mike of Scripps Ranch, CA. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fred’s favorite vacation was driving to Alaska for the summer where he got to mine for gold with his in laws, Josh, Tami and Emily Salazar and Ernie Johnson. Although they didn’t strike it rich that summer, Fred has finally hit the jackpot and is walking on streets of gold for all of eternity.
Greenlawn Funeral Home of Bakersfield is handling arrangements.
