11/14/1970 – 10/26/2018

Matt was born in Pomona, CA and moved to McKittrick when he was 4. He loved it here and never moved.

He went kindergarten through 8th grade at McKittrick School where he made friendships that lasted a lifetime. He graduated from TUHS in 1988. Matt was a gifted baseball player. The only place he felt more comfortable than behind the plate was high atop a power pole. Matt broke out in line work at the age of 18. He loved it and the brothers he found there. People will remember Matt most for his kind heart and willingness to drop everything to help someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marie and Jerry Stringer; and stepbrother Jon.

Left to grieve him are his parents Rick & Val Parris and Don Wires; his son Dalton & Ashley Wires, grandson Chase; sister Christi, brother-in-law David Randolph; mother of his only child Christy Perry; aunts and uncles Lin and Paul Rubadeau and Wilda and Charlie Collin; cousins; the love of his life Lori Perry and their dog Sassy; and many, many friends. He had no idea how much he was loved and respected here on Earth.

Memorial services will be at 11am on Saturday, November 10th at Community Christian Fellowship, 631 North Street in Taft. There will be a luncheon immediately after at the Taft Petroleum Club. Meat and chili beans will be provided. We ask that you please bring a side dish/dessert and come to share stories and fellowship.
