Kenny was born July 21, 1943 in Gorman, Texas and went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 19, 2011 in Taft, California with his soul mate, Phyllis by his side.
Services are on Friday 13, 2012 at 12pm at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 400 Finley Dr., Taft.
Kenny was a husband, father, brother and friend to many. He lived his life to the fullest. His very favorite pastime was riding his Harley with the wind in his face, sun on his back enjoying the freedom of the ride. The brotherhood he made while riding are bonds that can never be broken. Kenny brought laughter and happiness to all who crossed his path.
Kenny proudly served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force where he was a sharp shooter and expert marksman with a rifle. He went on to become an excellent welder which was the trade he continued in until his retirement.
Kenny is survived by his wife and soul mate, Phyllis Houle Rountree. When Poppa and Phyllis met it was obvious to all these two were meant to be together. They were never apart for the 12 years of their life together. If you saw Poppa, you saw Phyllis.
Kenny is also survived by his daughter Katrina Geer, San Diego, CA, stepdaughters Maureen Fitzgerald, Tuscon, AZ, and Carleen Vinum, Vacaville, CA, stepson Christopher Houle and adopted son Buddy Brummett, both of Taft, CA, step grandchildren Courtney Houle, Taft, CA and Aimee Houle, Klamath Falls, OR, and his adopted grandchild Bree Wilson. He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law JB and Joan Rountree, Colorado and sister Barbara Miller, Florida, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Joyce Houle, Taft, CA, sister-in-laws Mary Houle, Oregon, Gail Bullard, Maricopa, CA. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Round out his surviving “family” members are Jim Kelly, Danny Hairston, Larry Bullard and Ron Boliver. Brothers to the end!
A special thanks to Pastor Paul Wilson and wife Sharon of Taft Trinity Southern Baptist Church for all their love and support during this time. As well thank you to Andrea Gotcher and to Hoffman Hospice for all their assistance.
In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted at West Side Family Mortuary.
