'Cats fall behind early, can't catchup

Last Thursday night, the varsity girls basketball team took on the Shafter Generals. The Generals were undefeated in league play coming into this contest. The Wildcats lost this game by the score of 48-30.
The Generals flexed their muscles early as they kept the Wildcats to just 12 points in the first half. Taft didn't break into double digit scoring in a quarter until the fourth when they outscored the Generals 14-10 in the final quarter.
Morgan Pulido led the team in scoring with eight points, Reagan Hamilton and Kyleigh Phillips added six points. Cherise Strong and Haley Pulido put up four points and Alondra Cisneros and Sierra Pilgrim grabbed a point apiece.
The girls managed to grab 26 rebounds in the contest and eight steals. Phillips also recorded a block in the game.
The team is at home tonight in the Mullen Gym against the Chavez Titans.
