The Etna High varsity baseball team ended the regular season with 8-0 and 4-0 wins vs Trinity at home Friday. Etna improved to 13-9-1 overall and 4-6 in the SCL. In game one, Mason Dickson pitched a complete game shutout. He finished with seven strikeouts, while giving up two hits and three walks. He also went 2-for-4 from the plate. Kevin Stapleton went 3-for-3 with three runs, an RBI, a double, and a stolen base, Steve Lampert finished 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a double. Brice Black had two runs and two stolen bases for the Lions. In game two, Lampert pitched 6.2 innings and earned the win. He had nine strikeouts, while giving up three hits and four walks. Hayden Hogun pitched an inning and did not give up a hit or a walk. Robinson went 2-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases. Josh Theofanides finished 2-for-3 with a run and a double. Brice Black went 1-for-2 with a with a run, RBI, and a double. Hogun went 2-for-3. Etna is expected to earn a berth in the Northern Section Division 5 playoffs, which begin Friday.
